Top Ten Books Coming Out in 2019

Welcome to 2019! I’m excited to continue this journey of all things books related with you. To start of this new year, I decided that it would be a good idea to take a look at what is to come. Without further adieu:

Top Ten Books Coming Out in 2019

  1. Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare
    • I love all things Shadowhunters and this is the newest story in the ever growing series. It takes us to after the Clockwork series, but still long before the original City of Bones book. I am working on the Lady of Midnight series still, but I aim to be done reading that in time for this book’s release.
    • Release Date – November 19, 2019
  2. Descendant of the Crane by Joan He
    • I picked this book out in part due to beautiful cover art. Then I read about the story and I knew I would want to read it. The story follows a princess thrust into power when her father is murdered and commits an illegal act in order to find the killer. The tag line of the book is “Tyrants cut out hearts. Rulers sacrifice their own,” which I love.
    • Release Date – April 2, 2019
  3. The Night Olivia Fell by Christina McDonald
    • Whenever I see the name Olivia, I become intrigued because it is the name of the main character of my own novel. So I won’t pretend that isn’t the reason that I clicked on this link. This book is about the connection between mother and daughter, when mom, Abi, finds out that her daughter is in the hospital, brain dead and pregnant. So this thriller is definitely on my TBR list now.
    • Release Date – February 5, 2019
  4. Internment by Samira Ahmed
    • I cannot wait to get my hands on this book, which discusses a near future where Muslim Americans are forced into internment camps. Based on the political climate in the US right now, this book seems like it will hit far too close to reality. Then again, that is why I want to read it. It seems to consider the refusal of some people to speak up when they see something they know it is wrong.
    • Release Date – March 19, 2019
  5. The Blameless Dead by Gary Haynes
    • I can’t describe this book any better than what is provided in the book’s own description:
The Blameless Dead is an epic, compelling, edge-of-the-seat drama that sweeps the reader from twentieth century Europe to modern-day New York, taking in some of the most important events of modern history and exposing them in honest and unflinching terms. Part murder-mystery, part historical novel and shot through with adrenaline-pumping action, this novel superbly demonstrates that, while the hostilities may cease and the peace be signed, the horror that is war is never really over.
    • Release Date – March 2019
  6. We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal
    • I love tag lines that draw you in and this book has one: “People lived because she killed. People died because he lived.” I’m excited to check out how the Hunter and the Prince of Death will come together in this 2019 book.
    • Release Date – May 14, 2019
  7. The Perfect Liar by Thomas Christopher Greene
    • Apparently, I am on a thriller kick because this is not the first one on my list. I’m not entirely sure what drew me to this story. I think part of it is the entangled story of a wife and husband, whose secrets are coming back to create issues. Either way, it made the list.
    • Release Date – January 15, 2019
  8. Sorcery of Thornes by Margaret Rogerson
    • In case you did not notice, I run a book blog. In other words, how could I possibly pass up a book about a magical library. I barely even needed to read the rest of the description and I was already interested. Combine magic with it and I am there.
    • Release Date – June 4, 2019
  9. Miracle Creek by Angie Kim
    • Next up is a contemporary courtroom drama about a Korean immigrant family and a single mother accused of killing her autistic son. It’s going to be a thrilling ride, especially since the author has experience as a Korean immigrant and a former trial lawyer.
    • Release Date – April 16, 2019
  10. An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen
    • And finally, a book that is actually being released today!
    • This book is about a woman who signs up for a psychology study with generous compensation and anonymity guaranteed. However, what starts as invasive questions begins to require a change in who she is.
    • Release Date – January 8, 2019

What did you think of my list? Do you have your eye on any of these books? What are some of the best books that you have heard are being released in 2019?

Thank you for your continued support in 2019!
